Counseling Sessions
We realize counseling is a financial investment. Our therapists honor that by maintaining their commitment to excellence through ongoing training and professional development. This allows us to provide the most cutting edge, evidence-based care to our clients.
Initial Session:
The first appointment will be a time dedicated to understanding what brought you to therapy. We will discuss your current needs, as well as your goals and expectations about future sessions. During this session you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
Insurance:
We are covered by many insurance companies as “Out of Network” providers. This means that we take payment at the time of service and then provide you with a Superbill— a coded form to submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement if they cover out of network services. The percentage of Out of Network reimbursement is different for each insurance plan, but typically you would need to meet your deductible before any reimbursement would be offered. To find out more about your coverage, you can contact your insurance company. While Out of Network counseling doesn’t work for everyone, there are some significant advantages to not billing insurance directly. One advantage is that we get to collaboratively set the focus and needed length of therapy so we are able to really meet the needs of our clients and not be limited to what the insurance company will cover. Another benefit is that we can spend more time on caring for our clients versus spending hours on paperwork and trying to figure out the requirements for each insurance company. ** Please note that you are not able to submit Out of Network claims for counseling with an intern.
Cost:
Licensed and Associate Counselors: $170 for a standard 50 minute session. Clinical Intern: $75 for a standard 50 minute session
Our Internship Program
A clinical intern is someone who is in the final year of their Master’s Program and are working to gain the clinical hours needed for graduation. At Meridian Counseling, our interns receive a high level of clinical supervision so that all of their clients have experts guiding the work. Our interns are well supported and have full access to all the resources of our team. Because they are in training, we are able to offer their services at a significantly reduced rate. This can be a more affordable option for those who need this, while still providing excellent client care.
